About Nancy

NLZ Bio Photo Sept 2017“If I were called upon to briefly define the word “art”, I should call it the reproduction of what the senses perceive in nature, seen through the veil of the soul.”

– Paul Cezanne

Nancy Ziegler’s appreciation of art began when she and her husband, Ron, traveled around the world while he served in the Nixon administration and later as President and CEO of two national trade associations. Since beginning her art career in 2006, Nancy has studied at the Alexandria Art League and Robert Vander Zee at the Vander Zee Gallery Painters in Alexandria, Virginia. She also has studied under renowned American landscape artists Nancy Seamons Crookston, Larry Horowitz, M. Katherine Hurley, Kevin Macpherson, Carolyn Anderson and Sara Linda Poly.

Nancy has exhibited at the Vander Zee Gallery, River Farm (home of the American Horticultural Society), DigiLink, Belle Haven Country Club in Alexandria and at the Hill + Knowlton Strategies Corporate Art Program in Washington, DC. Her art is in private and corporate collections throughout the US, Europe and the Middle East, as well as the offices of the C.S. Lewis Institute and The Falls Church Anglican, both in Virginia.

Nancy has a sense for beauty and color and wants to share what she feels on canvas. She believes that nothing is more beautiful than nature and draws her inspiration through travels, museums and other artists.
